#PROUDmoments is a Sanlam Pan African campaign committed to changing the narrative in the uptake of insurance plans. Usually, insurance products are sold from a fear perspective; but as the Confident Insurer, we have chosen to flip the narrative and celebrate success with viable insurance plans.

Our #PROUDmoments campaign this July sheds light on a salon owner named Kelechi. Her story is not only heart-warming but quite relatable. Kelechi is the CEO of Yellow Sisi a salon located at Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. Her salon business began as a mom-and-pop establishment in Port Harcourt known as “Yellow Sisi Natural Hair Lounge” before she relocated to Lagos to expand into the hair-making industry. Kelechi is constantly pushing boundaries to revamp traditional African hairstyles and practices to fit into the lifestyle of modern career women in contemporary Africa. She is very passionate about the next generations, training many on building a career in the hairstyling business industry.
Interestingly, Kelechi’s story is one of many we have all around us. As Nigerians, we have a profound determination and zeal to succeed that is not only impressive but worth celebrating.
